Furchick

Furchick

Furchick is a prolific DIY noise-art maker who incorporates making things, punk attitude, noise, science and weirdness into her creations.

She often focusses on polyrhythms and vocals. She has taken her other sounds from the natural vibrations created from everyday objects.

Furchick is Claire Pannell. She currently resides in Perth in Western Australia, but she is often mistaken for a New Zealander, having lived there for many years. She also lived and played in New York in the late nineties.

She helps runs international experimental net label FAG ASH Records and runs sound art nights at Scitech, a science centre in Perth.

In 2015 Furchick is planning an international tour. She worked on sound design for Jukstapoz, a contemporary dance company based in Athens, Greece for premier in February 2014. She usually performs solo with an experimental live sound at the crossover between art and science. She tours New Zealand frequently, played at the Audacious Festival in Christchurch, a sound installation at Tilde festival in Melbourne, The Mart contemporary art museum in northern Italy, performed at Sound Summit in Newcastle, Australia, and at the International Noise Conference in Sydney and Melbourne.
