Heidi Mortenson

Heidi Mortenson

Composer and producer of electronic leftfield music. Lives in the woods in Denmark. Early works include recording vocals in a washing machine, building microphones from telephones and recording music through a walkie-talkie. After playing her first concert, Mortenson was appointed Resident Artist 2003 at the experimental LEM festival in Barcelona. Following she went on a European Tour with visual artist SOLU, played the opening ceremony of Transmediale Festival 2004 in Berlin, founded her own record label and released her debut album Wired Stuff, which received a wide range of positive critical notes. Since then, Mortenson has added worldwide festivals, artist residencies and outstanding projects and collaborations to her CV. In 2010 Mortenson took part in Laurie Anderson’s remix contest and got an honourable mention for her work. Her latest EP Mørk (2012) and album Tid (2016) both won the nomination for Best Electronic Release by the Gaffa Music Award.
