Natasha Barrett

Natasha Barrett (UK / Norway) is a composer, performer and researcher in the field of contemporary electroacoustic music and sound-art. Her works encompass instrumental and electroacoustic concert composition as well as more diverse forms such as sound-architectural installations and public interactive art. She regularly collaborations with designers and scientists and travels worldwide to present concerts, master classes and seminars.

She is a leading expert in the creative application of 3D sound and immersive spatial audio in contemporary art, with a special interest in spatial audio imagery in both acousmatic and live performance.

Barrett’s works are performed and commissioned throughout the world and have received a long list of prizes, including the Nordic Council Music Prize (Nordic), Giga-Hertz Award (Germany), Edvard Prize (Norway), Noroit-Leonce Petitot (France), Bourges International Electroacoustic Music Awards (France), Musica Nova (Prague), CIMESP (Brazil), Concours Scrime, (France), International Electroacoustic Creation Competition of Ciberart (Italy), Concours Luigi Russolo (Italy), Prix Ars Electronica (Austria), 9th International Rostrum for electoacoustic music (2002). Her work is available on CD, DVD-audio and SACD.
