Klare Lanson

Klare Lanson is a performance poet and sound artist, investigating digital tensions and mobile entanglement in relation to mediated screen and sound experience, digital parenting, digital ethnography and networked versions of self. Concepts such as listening, digital disruption, and social wellbeing are topics of her creative practice-based PhD research. She uses online participatory encounters and listening work that moves through mobile media studies, and the philosophy of sound and listening. Her recent collaborative art projects include #wanderingcloud (2012–2015), Commute(2015–2017) and mobile media art ethnography #TouchOnTouchOff (2017). Recent publications include Digital Culture & Society (2019) and Solid Air, Australia & New Zealand Spoken Word (UQP Books, 2019). Klare is also co-editor of The Routledge Companion to Mobile Media Art(2020), wrote for RealTime and Trouble Magazine, and was co-editor of the 40-year-old Australian spoken word literary anthology Going Down Swinging. Klare is also a member of the UndueNoisesound and multimedia collective based in regional Victoria, Australia.
